A Few Questions For You
You're connected...that's step one.
Step two, is let us know what OS you're connecting from. Windows XP, Vista, Linux, Mac OS X?
Either way, you should see a new drive on the system or a new "Web Folder" which you can open up like any other Finder/Explorer/Shell window. Then, you can drag files from your various computer drives, and drop them in the connected iPhone window to transfer them to it.
Once on your iPhone (or iPod Touch, of course) you'll be able to view certain types right there on the screen.
One more thing to note, Word document viewing will be available when the new update goes public on iTunes in the next 10 days or so. If you're one of the many people who saw "Office Document" support listed in the description of TouchFS on iTunes today, I apologize. When we uploaded the new version, we updated what we thought was the description of the new version...and it turns out it updated the description of our live version too. More details in this thread.
Don't forget to look at the Documentation pages too. They're still being expanded upon, but there's some decent screenshots to walk you through connecting and such.
New to TouchFS
I connected to the server, I think, now what? But I'm not even sure that I am connected because I don't see the desktop connection tool either. Can someone walk me through this? I am using an Itouch and Mac OS X 10.5.4
Thanks!
Here's the Walkthrough
The walkthrough complete with screenshots is available in the Documentation section. Direct link for OS X is here.
To sum it up, once you know the IP address of your iPod Touch (which you'll see on the TouchFS Options screen) it's a simple one step process to connect with the Finder.
Choose Go | Connect to Server... (Cmd-K)from the Finder and type in thehttp://url displayed on the TouchFS Options screen.Again, take a look at the screenshots and descriptions in the above linked walkthrough.
