No Connect at All

Equipment: iMac with Leopard 10.5.4 connected wirelessly to the internet using an Airport Express (IP address: http://10.0.1.199/) and DSL modem; and ipod touch 32GB with 2.o software upgrade.

I have tried everything that has been suggested under Leopard and nothing works. TouchFS: The IP address (http://10.0.1.197/ ) under Options on my touch is not correct. I tried it on Safari and it would not connect. The Airport Express IP address is: http://10.0.1.199/ . Airport Express should be able to "see" the touch and it should show up on my desktop as a device. I don't know what steps to take from here.

This should be easy to fix...

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner...finally had time to browse for new posts in the forums this weekend. In the future, since I'd consider this an "emergency" request, feel free to email our support address, and we'll get back to you within 24 hours 99.99% of the time.

So, your Mac is connected to your network via WiFi and you're running a very supported OS. What could be the issue here...let's see...

On the TouchFS Options screen, exactly what URL does it tell you to use to connect? By default, it should look something like this (with your own IP of course):

http://10.0.1.197:8080/

The easiest way to see if you at least have network connectivity is to try this URL in Safari, again with the port number too. Depending on the TouchFS security options you have configured, Safari will either prompt you for a password, or TouchFS will prompt you to allow the incoming connection. If Safari is able to connect, you'll know your iPod can see your computer and should then be able to connect with the Finder.

When you connect from the Finder by choosing Go | Connect to Server from the Finder menu bar, make sure you type in this URL exactly. Again, you'll definitely need to enter the port number (8080) to connect.

Also, due to a bug in v1.1 (which will be fixed in the next update), you'll need to use port 8080 regardless of what you may have entered in the Options screen.

Take a look at the How To Connect From OS X documentation for some detailed screenshots.

If you're still having problems connecting, let us know and we'll continue troubleshooting this for you. I could also email you our beta TouchFS Connect program which will automatically see any iPhone or iPod Touch on your network running TouchFS and give you a single-click connect option. (The TouchFS Connect tool just automates the above for you and keeps you from having to enter IP addresses and port numbers)
