connecting with XP

I can't seem to connect to my network places. I updated the Microsoft patch, am connected by WiFi, entered the IP address and port number from my Iphone. Still I receive the message "The folder you entered does not appear to be valid". Does any one have sugestions? I am not the most computer savy person, so any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Connecting with XP

I had the same error message to start with, I realised that I had not put the correct IP address that my Iphone has on my network and also missed the http:// from the front of it. Try checking for the IP number that your iphone picks up from your router.

For your network place you should be typing in something like this:

http://192.168.0.4:8080

just make sure that the IP address is the one on your iphone.

hope this helps

Couldn't have said it better myself

I couldn't have said it better myself–thanks. Let us know if you were able to connect or still need assistance.

To make sure everything is on the network correctly, you can also try opening the URL displayed on the TouchFS Options screen in your computer's web browser too.

Connection

Hi,
Thanks for the replies, but I still can't connect. I made the same mistake at first, not adding "http://". The message I receive is "the folder you have entered does not appear to be valid, please choose another".
Any suggestions would be helpful
Thanks,
Ed

Do you get a similar error when trying to open the URL in your computer's web browser too? And you've made sure the TouchFS server is ON in the Options screen, correct? Also, make sure you're using port 8080 if you've changed it accidentally. Does it make any difference if the Authentication setting is ON or OFF? Do you know the IP address of your computer? Does it look similar to the address given in the TouchFS Options screen?

If you can't even browse the TouchFS URL with a web browser, something's not connected to the network correctly. Make sure you try http://{TouchFS IP Address}:8080/
