Full Screen Viewer
I'm using the built-int PDF functionality quite often. Before 2.0, I've jailbroken my iPod Touch and used an internal webserver to read ebooks and now I'm using TouchFS.
One thing though (aside of the slow scrolling performance of the PDF viewer compared to safari): Do you think it would be possible to open the document in full screen mode? That little "back"-button at the bottom of the PDF is not worth wasting all the screen real estate for.
Also, do you think you could just use safari to open the document (either vie http://localhost:8080... or, if possible file:///path/to/the/file/on/the/phone)? Because that way, when there's an incoming call or something else forcing me out of TouchFS, I would not have to scroll back to where I left off (which is even more annoying because there's no go to page-functionality).

These are very good ideas
You make some very good points, and we've tried to give the ability to launch Safari with our local files, but Safari won't open file:// urls. And since we're using the official firmware, if we launched Safari to open files from the TouchFS server with http:// urls, TouchFS would quit when Safari is launched...so there'd be no server running anymore. (3rd party apps officially can't run in the background)
As for the PDF speed, we're using what should be the same viewer that Safari uses. One user actually thought TouchFS was slower, but further testing showed the same performance between Safari and TouchFS when viewing the same file.
If you find an exception to this, please let us know.
Double tapping to view full screen is an excellent idea however. I've filed a feature request in our internal system.
Full screen viewer
I'm hoping I have put this in the correct place, but here goes! I have uploaded some pictures to TouchFS and have no problems with zooming in on them. It would be really nice if the options bar at the bottom of the screen and the network information bar at the top of the screen could be made to go away whilst viewing after a few seconds or so and then tap to get them back. Is this possible to do with TouchFS, I know it works with other Iphone apps? It would make a big difference to the viewable area and make this app much better in my opinion (even though it's great now).
I'm not sure as this is duplicating the same request from Philip but I would really like the full screen without the bars taking up the space.
Another fine idea we're working on
Message received. We're working on adding a single-tap gesture to all file viewers that will hide/show the toolbars and/or status bar.
Now that we have the zooming working (more or less...I still think it can be implemented better) we can start working on this feature. Thanks for taking the time to put your request into print. We appreciate the feedback.
