Save attachments from email?

In a previous posting I saw you answered:

You aren't allowed to save email attachments from your iPhone, as there is no way for you to access "the file system". You can't even send data/files from one application to another.

So this means you will never be able to take files from email and save them on TouchFS? I get PDF files that I want saved. I can move them from my computer over but it would be nice to move them from the iphone when Im on the road and not in front of my computer. Thanks.

Sorta...but we're working on a workaround

It's true that you can't "save" attachments from the iPhone Mail application, and even if you could, no other application would be able to access them.

We're working on a new feature for TouchFS that will allow it to connect to your standard POP3 email server and download any attachments into the current TouchFS folder. This way you won't have to save email attachments from your computer and transfer them to TouchFS manually. You'll be able to navigate to a folder in TouchFS and tap a "get from email" button. You'll then be presented with a list of attachments found in your inbox (as long as they're still on your email server) and can choose the ones you'd like downloaded to the current TouchFS folder.

Does this sound like a decent workaround of sorts?

Sounds good.

Yeah that works. While you are at it, can you allow downloads of the email itself as html or something to save them as a file too. The email client doenst allow me to create directories. So I can save and organize important emails. (ie travel confirmations)
