I put the right http... NOTHING!!!

can somebody help me?...

why?

i am doing everything like the first time...

the http is correct... like appears on the options...

What's changed?

You were able to connect via the Finder's Connect to Server window the first time, but now you can't anymore? Has the IP address of your iPhone changed?

Make sure you're using the current IP as displayed on the TouchFS Options screen. Assuming you are, and you're entering the full url in the Connect to Server window (like "http://192.168.0.7:8080/") something else is amiss.

Does it matter if you have TouchFS authentication turned on or off? Is the TouchFS server ON in the Options screen?

Can you open the url in Safari or another web browser? That would at least tell you you have the url correct, and your network is functioning correctly. If you can't "connect" w/your web browser, either your iPhone is not connected to the same network your computer is, or the url/address is incorrect.

We've got a beta version of our OS X connection utility that will give you a single button "connect" ability w/o you needing to enter IP addresses and all. I can email it to you if you'd like, but it's Leopard only (10.5.x). Let me know.

Not trying to be long-winded here, but make sure you type in the full url in the Connect to Server window. I've has some users just type the IP address, some users type afp:// addresses, etc...clear out whatever text is in the Server Address field, and put something like:

http://192.168.0.7:8080/

Let me know if you still experience problems. If you're on a recent Mac, we'll get it working, there's something simple we're missing, I'm sure.

iIT WORKS NOW but with a "thing"...

iIT WORKS NOW but with a "thing": I put a extra"0" in the end: instead of "808" like says in the options iphone, I put an extra "0" and stays: "8080"... and then it works!!!... Why is that???... and why don´t appears that extra "0" on the access on the iphone??? but well: it works... (I saw your example and I decided to put the extra "0"...

Now: what dosen´t works: is the "something.txt"... Why???
I save a .doc text as .txt but don´t works: is not suppose to work??? dosen´t the program read .txt?...
can you help me on this??
I think I saw a simmillar problem on this forum...
what should I do?

P.S.: but I continue to want to know why that extra "0" thing!!!... and now: the ".txt" problem...

Thnak you

Vítor

Port number must be greater then 1024

Port numbers less than or equal to 1024 are reserved, so using 808 will not work. Whichever port number you do use however, must be the same on the TouchFS Options screen, and in your connection URL.

As for the .txt problem, some other users are experiencing the same thing despite what we thought was extensive testing with text files. You can follow the thread here.

ok! but...

thank you for your answer... but... why in the options said "port 808" and the http is "..... 808" and not "... 8080"?
you said that I must enter the same port number... but if I do that, if I put "808" that is what appears in the option don´t work becasue you said that must be bigger... but its ok: now it works... just to try to understand why I must do it wrong to do it well:)

sorry and thanks

8080 is the factory default

I think you may have inadvertently deleted the last 0 in the port field accidentally–it's easy to do. By default, we've got 8080 set when you first run TouchFS–I'm sure others will confirm that.

If not, I have no other way to explain it. Anyway, I'm glad you're up and running. Let me know if you have any other questions.

THANK YOU!

Dear sir:

Yes... you probablly are right: now I put again the "0" on the port "808" and stay: "8080" and EVERYTHING IS OK!...

Yes I am Happy with the App... (try only to resolved the "Sheila sindrome":) that is: to read the txt files...

Thank you
and best for you and your team
